OK folks this is my report on salvaging a ride from what's left of the New Years snow. I rode the Cty 32 ditch from Waconia west to Cty 135 then south to 94th st to Vega to Cty 33 to trail. All was pretty good up til then. Lots of good snow in the ditch with some bare patches but not much. Once on the trail things turned for the worse due to all the plowed fields that the trail crosses. I rode the trail to the Tiger Lake shanty/shelter and then to Cty 34. I could have continued into NYA and stopped at Crossroads but needed to head back home to watch Anaheim 1 SuperX. Bubba is just scary fast and best of luck to Ricky turning left. There was lots of dirt between patches of snow. About 50/50 ratio of snow to dirt. Whenever I would get to a road crossing I would run up and down the ditch to clean the skid out and cool down the heat exchangers. I basicly took the same route back home just on the other side of the roads to check all the conditions. There are LOTS of hazards in the ditches and the darkness doesn't help. I had some close calls with posts and culverts that forced me to keep the speed and air time in check but hey at least I was riding and that's all that matters.

Rode from Waconia on Cty 10 ditch to trail to Hwy 7 to the Ranchouse to top off on fuel. Then back on Hwy 7 to the trail at Cty 21. North to the Hollywood Sports Complex for dinner. Then North to the Luce Line and East on that through Watertown to the Ox Yoke. Then back West to the trail that goes back to Hwy 7. This was the best section of trail. Then back to Waconia. Ditches and trails were in good shape and the Luce Line was surprisingly good. http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/snowmobiling/map8.pdf http://www.ccsnowrunner.com/default.asp
