This is a 1965 Bolens Hus-Ski 444 Sled.
This is a classic articulated vintage sled that has been fully restored over 2 1/2 years. It is in great operating condition. We purchased it in 2004 in upstate NY. It plows through the deepest snow and can handle multiple people on the bench seat.
Restorations/Repairs that were done include:
Jack Shaft worn area from bearing wear welded and re-machined.
Disc of brake welded to jack shaft end.
The jack shaft housing, bearings and brake are all like new.
Replaced rubber motor mounts.
Accurate, correct repainting of original color of parts.
Overhauled gas, wires, brake (disc brake!),throttle, tail light, snow flap, hood clamp, track.
Skis and seat restored to original.
Manufactured by Bolens, a division of Food Machinery Corporation in Port Washington, WI.
Engine: 10.4hp JLO model L252R 247cc. Will go about 25-30 mph top speed.
We do not get to use the machine. It is a shame to have it and not be showing it around the country or using it. Now that it is restored and of show quality, we really don't want to use it.
We will not entertain anything lower for a price nor deliver it. If it comes down to multiple individuals wanting the sled at the same time, then it would go to the highest bidder.
