{"id":573,"date":"2016-02-05T16:01:54","date_gmt":"2016-02-05T21:01:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/?p=573"},"modified":"2016-02-09T16:24:36","modified_gmt":"2016-02-09T21:24:36","slug":"snowmobiling-presque-isle-wi-watersmeet-mi-land-o-lakes-wi-iron-river-mi-kenton-mi-marenisco-mi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/2016\/02\/05\/snowmobiling-presque-isle-wi-watersmeet-mi-land-o-lakes-wi-iron-river-mi-kenton-mi-marenisco-mi\/","title":{"rendered":"Snowmobiling Presque Isle WI to Watersmeet MI to Land O Lakes WI to Iron River MI to Kenton MI to Marenisco MI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After our &#8220;break in&#8221; day yesterday with my buddies who have never ridden a sled, we decided to venture out a bit further on the rail grades. \u00a0Both guys did great and rode like old pro&#8217;s by the end of the day.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160204_121604.jpg\"  rel=\"attachment wp-att-581\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-581\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160204_121604-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_20160204_121604\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160204_121604-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160204_121604-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160204_121604-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Trail 1 from Presque Isle to Marenisco was really rough and hasn&#8217;t been groomed for the last few days. \u00a0Obviously with the amount of traffic and limited options to get to Michigan (trail 11 is closed) it takes it&#8217;s toll on this trail. \u00a0Hopefully GAG (Gogebic Area Grooming) can get things together and keep this trail groomed for the rest of the season. \u00a0Once we got to trail to and headed for Watersmeet, things improved considerably. \u00a0The UP Thunder Riders ALWAYS do an amazing job on their trails!<\/p>\n<p>We grabbed breakfast at the Pine Cone Cafe in Land O Lakes WI which was great as usual!<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160205_123106.jpg\"  rel=\"attachment wp-att-583\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-583\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160205_123106-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_20160205_123106\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160205_123106-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160205_123106-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160205_123106-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n(chicken and dumplings)<br \/>\nThen we headed north to trail 2 and took that east to Iron River. \u00a0After we got east of trail 107 it was smooth sailing the entire way. \u00a0The closer we got to Iron River, the more rocks we saw on the trail. \u00a0We decided to get gas there and head back. \u00a0The further east we went, the more the snow thinned out.<\/p>\n<p>On our way back we decided to check out trail 107 and crossed paths with the groomer.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160205_154629.jpg\"  rel=\"attachment wp-att-584\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-584\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160205_154629-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_20160205_154629\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160205_154629-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160205_154629-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.snowsnakes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/IMG_20160205_154629-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nWe stopped at UP Chucks for some soup and then made our way back to Presque Isle.<\/p>\n<p>Trail 1 from Marenisco to Presque Isle was beat to hell again!
